Fox News Host

Profile

Mark Levin is among the three or four most influential conservative media voices in America, hosting The Mark Levin Show — one of the highest-rated radio programs in the country — and Life, Liberty & Levin on Fox News, where his Sunday prime-time program consistently draws millions of viewers. Born September 21, 1957, in Philadelphia's Cheltenham Township, Levin graduated from Temple University and earned his law degree from Temple University's Beasley School of Law in 1980. He served in the Reagan administration from 1981 to 1989, rising to Chief of Staff to Attorney General Edwin Meese — a position that gave him direct experience in the executive branch's national security and law enforcement apparatus and formed the bedrock of his constitutional legal philosophy. Rush Limbaugh, who considered Levin a peer and intellectual ally for decades, called him "The Great One," a moniker that stuck.

Levin's pro-Israel advocacy is rooted in his deep reading of American constitutional philosophy, Jewish history, and what he describes as the civilizational conflict between the free world and its enemies. He has described Israel as an organic extension of Western civilization's founding values — the Jewish people's ancient connection to their land expressed in a modern democratic state — and his rhetoric on Israel is characteristically unqualified. He was among the most vocal critics of the Obama administration's Iran nuclear deal, dedicating extensive broadcast time to making the case against it on constitutional and strategic grounds, and was an early and sustained voice for maximum pressure policies. His Fox News platform has given him a Sunday prime-time audience for extended, substantive conversations on Israel, Iran, and the Middle East with guests including Israeli officials, military analysts, and American defense policymakers.

Levin is also a prolific author: his books — including "Liberty and Tyranny" (2009), "American Marxism" (2021), and "The Democrat Party Hates America" (2023) — have each debuted at number one on the New York Times bestseller list and collectively sold in the millions. His audience is older and larger than Shapiro's, reaching a cohort of conservative Americans who came of political age in the Reagan era and who receive their pro-Israel formation through Levin's legally grounded, historically anchored framework. At Rank 22, Levin is the attorney-broadcaster whose decades of consistent, forceful pro-Israel commentary have shaped the baseline assumptions of millions of conservative Americans about why Israel matters to the United States.
