Kevin Stitt has served as Governor of Oklahoma since January 2019, winning reelection in 2022, and has built a state-level pro-Israel record that reflects the convergence of evangelical Christian Zionist politics, Republican foreign policy orthodoxy, and the oil-state business relationships that connect Oklahoma's energy economy to the Middle East. Born in Garden City, Kansas on December 28, 1972, Stitt grew up in a Christian family in Norman, Oklahoma, earned his degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University in 1996, and built a successful mortgage banking company before entering politics — becoming the first Native American governor elected in U.S. history (he is an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation) and the first Oklahoma governor elected without prior political office in the modern era.
